So we drove to the only place where other cool people hang out: the public library. The McMaster libraries are usually a mess so we settled on the next best thing.
We laid our our tools and got to work. The first task was to open everything up to see what we were working with.
One of the first problems we encountered was a pretty big one. The Nikon camera we had used a proprietary port for its shutter button. Great. Where the hell were we supposed to get another camera at a moments notice?
As it turns out, the public library had one camera available for use in the library. Our diligent research (after the fact) told us that lower-end Canon cameras had the port we were looking for. After a bit of paperwork we find ourselves patiently waiting for the library clerk to pull out the camera they had, hoping to be a lower-end Canon.
Turns out, it was. Crisis averted.
The next immediate problem was that we didn't have the screwdriver necessary to unscrew the nunchuk. We needed a 3 pronged-star, as opposed to the 4-pronged star bits we had with us. We'll stop by a group member's place to pick it up.
No problem. Right?
