While we had the general concept of the shutter button, we wanted to find something that we could repurpose into the remote. Our next stop? The Value Village remote/cable section.
We knew that for the wire, we needed an audio cable. We found a pair of headphones with a solid wire that we could use as the cable that connects to the camera and ultimately lead to the remote. We also found the perfect remote, a Wii Nunchuk controller.
We shoplifted the headphones and controller in order to keep our costs down.
Just kidding, we paid for them. The headphones and controller were $4 and $3 respectively.
Our next stop was down the street to pick up the last item we needed (or so we thought). Canada Computers had the adapter we needed to plug the headphone/aux cable into the shutter port of the camera.
Here is a picture of Vishal waiting patiently in line. What a respectful McMaster student.
